XF
The Jaguar XF is a handsome British sport sedan, even if it doesn’t offer as much interior room as some of its rivals. Its sporty profile is complimented by elegant sheetmetal, while the 2021 refresh has made the interior even more opulent.
The XF provides a comfortable ride and responsive steering, making for an exciting driving experience. Plus, the XF boasts some of the most spacious rear-seat legroom in its class.
Recent updates gave the XF a sleeker interior and better-positioned controls. Plus, its large infotainment system has been upgraded with faster processing speeds compared to its pre-refresh model.
Jaguar offers three XF trim levels: P250 S, P250 SE and P300 R-Dynamic SE. The base S model comes equipped with a 246 horsepower turbocharged four cylinder engine and rear-wheel drive as standard equipment.
On the other hand, the more powerful R-Dynamic SE is equipped with a 296 horsepower version of this same engine and all-wheel drive. While its adaptive dampers are slightly firmer than those on the SE, they remain soft enough for urban driving.
The XF comes equipped with a range of safety technologies as standard, such as front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and lane departure warning. Plus it gets Adaptive Cruise Control which automatically maintains a set distance from the vehicle ahead.
XJ
The Jaguar XJ is its flagship luxury sedan and represents the pinnacle of performance and technology. It offers unparalleled driving pleasure with three powertrain options: aluminum inline four, V6 petrol engine or V8 petrol engine.
The new generation of XJ models boasts advanced EGR and SCR systems to significantly reduce exhaust emissions, making them more eco-friendly than ever before. The EGR can inject urea into the combustion chamber to help lower NOx levels while the SCR catalyzes nitrogen back to nitrogen and water for improved efficiency.
On the inside, the XJ boasts a selection of veneers and trim finishers that give it an elevated luxury feel. Soft grain or quilted semi-aniline leathers are offered for the front seats, while high-quality materials and veneers adorn the rear seats.
The XJ offers a host of connectivity features to keep drivers connected. These include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which let customers plug in their devices via USB cable and access compatible apps on the touchscreen display.
XE
Jaguar’s XE is their newest offering in the compact car segment. Available as either a coupe or convertible, its wide and low profile conveys confidence and poise.
Inside, the cabin of the XE exudes sportiness with a center console inspired by the F-Type. It’s also enhanced for increased comfort and convenience with soft-touch materials, premium veneers, and new door trims that facilitate usability and stowage.
There are also some exterior updates, with all models getting new LED headlights and a more aggressive grille design. For an even sportier aesthetic, R-Dynamic models feature dark mesh detailing on the rear valance as well as unique wheel styles.
Despite its rear-wheel drive, the XE boasts an excellent chassis balance that makes it a pleasure to drive with finely weighted steering and quick turn-in. It may feel slightly less supple around corners than rivals such as the BMW or Mercedes-Benz C-Class, but that is only a minor criticism.
The XE’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is smooth and quiet, producing almost 250 horsepower. It’s coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission that works well. While its EPA fuel economy ratings aren’t quite as impressive as those of some competitors, the performance of the XE remains relatively uncomplicated.
